Well of course it is our resident dead President mingling with Con Man Extraordinaire, smooth-talking Italian businessman and ex-boy toy of Anne Hathaway, and claimed to have friends in "high places" at the Vatican is headed to prison after pleading guilty in a Manhattan real estate fraud case.
Clearly, Raffaello Follieri, has friends in the hierarchy of the Republican party. No surprise here..
Follieri agreed yesterday not to appeal any sentence of up to five years and three months in prison for his plea to wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy.
So what does a 70 year old Politician and his creepy campaign manager, Rick Davis, want with the conning millionaire playboy I ask?
Well word is over at Liberalland:
"According to the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, in January 2007 Follieri sent Rick Davis a packet of information on his companies Follieri Capital and Follieri Media, apparently hoping to get financing from Pegasus Capital Advisors, a hedge fund in Connecticut that Davis represented.
“Follieri’s proposal to Davis had two dimensions to it–first, as an investment opportunity for Davis’s fund; but secondly, there was the political dimension, in which Follieri offered to help deliver Catholic votes to McCain,” said Claudio Gatti, a reporter for Il Sole 24 Ore, who investigated Follieri for eighteen months."
Something just ain't right about this picture. Hopefully El Con Man would fold when he sees Brutus petting his shoulders, and let us knos just what the Real John McCain was up to..
